Where did you get the idea for using socks as a sweater for the kittens? It seems much nicer than making them wear cones.

The shelter mentioned that people sometimes make covers out of socks. They didn't give much details, but I found this instructible. I'm so happy to have found it! They seem to be comfortable in them, cannot injure their incisions on their tummies even when wrestling with one another. It is so much better than a cone. I wish I had known about this earlier. An added plus is that these do not interfere with their litter box use. Not even a drop of anything on them.

Yes, Frank lost two pair of fine tube socks as I needed to practice on one. :D

Kathleen, you reminded me. I have a friend who dresses her cats in clothing, so they get used to being handled and wearing the clothes (only occasionally) and have various things done to them. Her cats don't need a cone when another cat would, because she dresses them. It also makes them easier for the vet and vet techs to handle them when necessary.

Some people questioned our sanity when we decided to get three kittens. "Too much energy", "they destroy stuff" "you won't keep up" all that.

This morning has been endless zoomies, knocking things off side tables wrestling, chasing, rinsing and repeating since 5:30. They have been adorable and tiring. It's great watching them.
