More of that fantastic smell tonight - HOMEMADE BREAD!

No pictures but I also made bread yesterday. Did the King Arthur Sourdough Raisin Bread which came out great! I made a slight change in using all starter and no yeast. I hate recipes that use a combo of the two.

I made some Chicken & Wild Rice Soup yesterday and let it meld overnight in the `fridge... thought S&P's Cast Iron Skillet Rolls would be perfect with it ... IT WAS!!! :yum:
For dessert, I had another Roll with loads of Butter & Jam:)
I made Joey's version, using TJ's Dark Beer and maybe it's just me, but I think these have a more Yeast-y taste to them, very nice.
I will try Andy's version using milk at some point ...

Ssshhh! Don't tell him it's brushed in melted Butter, TWICE!!! :LOL: He ate 5 in one sitting!
The rest went into a Tupperware® for breakfast tomorrow.
I'll split them, toast them and spread on more Butter and Jam ;)
 
What Are You Baking?

My World Famous Rum Cake!

I use to sell different flavored half sized Bundt® Cakes
in my Etsy Shop, but now I only make them for friends
and family members as Christmas gifts.
I look for real cuts tins and send them all off at once.
This might be the last year I do this though, the price
of USPS shipping has gotten it tiny bit high ... $15.xx :ohmy:
 
SO is headed back to FL to help with her ill sister. It's also her son's 50th birthday. She asked me to bake some oatmeal chocolate chip cookies (his fave) for his birthday.

I didn't think to take a photo so imagine some oatmeal raisin cookies and think the raisins are actually chocolate chips.
 
I have been making salt and pepper's cast iron dinner rolls with milk instead of beer. I decided to try the beer version and while I was at it, I also tried a different baking vessel.

I haven't tried them yet but they look pretty good.

They taste great! not really different from the milk version.

I used some nice soft butter from my butter bell!
