It looks really solid and sturdy. It spins really fast without much effort. The brake works well. I can hardly wait to try it.

I had a very cheap timer. Don't even know where I got it. But it stopped working (No, not because I hadn't replaced the battery!) But man did I get a shock when trying replace it! However, I need a mobile timer, and it also sticks to my fridge. So I coughed up for it. And apart from sounding like a fire or smoke alarm, it works really well and I love it. :)

I often use the timer on my smart phone.

I use multiple timers for keeping track of the various pots, pans, etc. I use a brand called CDN. A couple of years back, when I needed a replacement, they were nowhere to be found. Finally, some months later, they came back but with a new model.

DH complains that every time I leave the room, one of the timers goes off and he doesn't know what to do! :ROFLMAO: These days, my favorite timer is my watch! She's like my new best friend. She's a timer, tells the weather, tells me what song is playing, tells me how long I've been walking, etc., etc.

I should get a timer that is on a watch band. I don't always carry my phone with me and should I go outside - I've got one of those brains with 'out of sight, out of mind'. and it only takes one half-step away for the 'out of mind' to kick in.

Just make sure it doesn't mind a little water...so you don't have to take it off for kitchen and garden chores.

You can get watches that connect to your phone and do all kinds of things in addition to setting a timer.

That's the kind of watch I have. It is great and one can find all sorts of watch bands that change out quickly/easily. I found some that are elastic and I love them. Why? Because they do NOT interfere with using my PC.

Draw back: One has to pay a monthly fee for it. But, it actually lowered my overall monthly bill due to a new plan that we now qualify to have, due to adding the watch.

I can actually answer my phone on the watch! Play all of my iTunes (I use wireless Bluetooth speakers...or CarPlay)...It does pretty much anything the phone can do, but I don't have to carry the phone. One can have it call 9-11 for auto accidents, and oops, I fell too.

Sounds great. I should get one, too. Do you have an Android or an iPhone?

Silversage, does Alexa follow you to the garage, garden, end of driveway to put out the garbage?

Good point Ginny - maybe I'll get a brooch/pin to my apron.

I don't listen to music in the house, in the car, nor on my phone.
I don't want to answer my phone on my watch, nor read my emails, nor messages. I have a phone and a pc for that.
Emails are there but notification is turned off.

I just want a timer. Nothing else.
Think I'll go to the dollar store and get a couple of the ones with magnets on the back. Used to have several of those. I'll just glue a safety pin on the backside.

I have an iPhone. But, I did have to upgrade my phone in order to use it with a watch. I had an iPhone 7, but 8 is the first that are compatible with the watch. So...I went with a 14, because I hate change and figure this way, I won't have to make another change too soon? ;) I went with an older version of the watch (SE) because it did everything I wanted it to do and they had a special on the too. Win-win. I love it.

It even connects to my Skybell (front door camera/bell) so I know when someone is at the door or opens it too! And I can see who it is...if I don't know them, I probably won't answer...

Ahh yes, that is one thing I have on my phone which I won't be without. The Ring doorbell. As my apartment is in the basement I cannot see the street. Have to climb the stairs (not my favourite past-time) so I can see and talk to who ever is there.
Also have 6 other camera's around the perimeter, on a different system, on my phone as well.
