The polar vortex is another one of those things coming down from Canada that we have to endure, like Justin Bieber.

Tonight's dinner will be chicken tenders in a lemon / shallot / white wine sauce, orzo, and roasted cauliflower.

but we do eat them often...

I'm truly not sure what I'll be making for our dinner this evening.
It's been a long work 10-12 days for us two, not fun at all.
So I'll be looking for some sort of comfort food... maybe just dessert
(and Wine of course there must always be Wine for moi)
I just pulled an Apple Crostata out of the hot box
and have some Ice Cream in the Deep Freeze

Now that I have visions of devil balls out of my head, I can think about dinner.


We're having our classic favorite dinner tonight. Pan fried bacon wrapped Filet Mignon , loaded baked spuds and glorified salads.

Brussels sprouts are round, like little green Martian baseballs. Baseball! Today is like a fresh breath of spring - the equipment truck left for Goodyear, AZ today! But no peanuts or pretzels or Cracker Jack here. Instead, with temperatures topping off in the mid-teens, I made a quick pot of soup, a recipe I pull out about once every four or five years. I start with this Lipton Cream of Broccoli Soup recipe, but: I use fresh broccoli instead of frozen; I get the Lipton mix with no chicken, instead poaching a boneless/skinless breast; I sub 1 1/2 cups chicken broth/stock for the milk.
