Except for when it makes you really sick.how long do germs last, though? a day? a week?
whatever doesn't kill ya makes ya stronger!
Well Sara, see my comment to beth above. I've been washing select produce with soapy water for more than half of my soon-to-be 71 years. If we leave my left knee out of the equation, I'm pretty strong enough.
Many years ago, I read a report about an analysis of the top brands of peanut butter. Based on that report, I changed brands to the one that contained the "least amount of insects" in the product.
I did a comparative taste test of peanut butters some years ago. "My" brand since childhood, Skippy, vs. JIF. JIF won hands down. Maybe it's the insect parts that add to the flavor.
BTW, I did a similar comparison with canned chicken broth and switched from the old family favorite to a new brand too.
Yes. We have an unopened one in our pantry. Not sure where we bought it so, just throwing it out.

Don't do that yet! Here's an easier page to check the numbers: https://www.fda.gov/safety/recalls-market-withdrawals-safety-alerts/j-m-smucker-co-issues-voluntary-recall-select-jifr-products-sold-us-potential-salmonella#recall-announcement
I checked the numbers. Ours is part of the recall.
