Freezing Pesto

one more hearty vote for freezing the whole finished product. I freeze mine with the nuts and cheese in the pesto. The thawed product is wonderful, virtually like fresh pesto.

How long have you saved it for? I never tried freezing it with the cheese added, but I've heard that the cheese doesn't preserve well.

The longest I have kept pesto in the freezer is about one year. I make my pesto with half basil and half parsley. I have noted no deterioration in the parmesan cheese in the frozen pesto.
 
:)I freeze mine as well in small plastic containers without cheese and add cheese later.It keeps well in the freezer.
