A good friend of mine is coming to visit this weekend for our annual Christmas cookie baking session. She asked me if I would teach her how to bake bread while she is here.

I have some recipes but does anyone have a TnT one that would be good for a beginner? Preferably not too many ingredients and ones that are easy to get. Oh, and she would like to not be one that has to be baked in a pan, more of a free-form loaf.

Try Italian Slipper Bread (ciabatta), free-form, one rise, little kneading...a great ego boost. It can also be turned into foccacia or pizza dough.

I'd do the no-knead bread that we're addicted to around here; I usually make it once a week.

Four ingredients, let it sit, plop it onto parchment for the 2nd rise and bake it in a dutch oven. Nothing complicated about it at all and the results are fantastic.

I agree. This is a fantastic recipe. And couldnt be easier.

Thanks everyone! I have a few choices and I am going to let her read all the recipes and decide which one she wants to try.
