I have what I know to be sticky/glutenous rice, but it looks shorter than what I see Lao people using in recipes online. Does anyone know if there are both short and long grain varieties of glutenous/sweet rice? (The rice I got was apple brand, called sweet rice).

I'm just wondering if what I have is suitable for Laotian sticky rice, and if not, what I can use it form. Mango sticky rice?

The bag is mine, the hand is what Lao people use.

Where is that Apple brand from? It looks more like the Chinese glutinous rice, but not quite as short, but not as long as the Thai varieties I've gotten, which is close to, but not as long as the other one in the lower photo. It should still cook up sticky - not sure how all these would be next to each other. Never had any stronger flavors, like with jasmine rices, to compare one brand to another.
