Hello everyone,
I've tried many milk alternatives, like almond milk, soja milk, ... and although they're all pretty good, the best is still to make your own !
So here are two recipes for you.
1/ Hazelnut milk
For about 1L of hazelnut milk you need :
- 80g of raw hazelnuts (remove the shells beforehand)
- water to soak the hazelnuts in
- 1L of water
a. Soak the hazelnuts overnight in a bowl of water (room temperature).
b. The next day, remove them from the water and rinse them. Throw away the soaking water.
c. Grind the hazelnuts in a blender until you obtain a powder.
d. In a sauce pan, bring to boil 1L of water with the grinded hazelnuts.
e. When it starts boiling, cook for 4-5 min on low fire.
f. Then let it cool for 15 min.
g. You can blend it again to obtain a smoother drink.
h. Pour your drink in a bottle (or other container) through a fine colander.
You can enjoy your tasty drink for about two days, just make sure you store it in the fridge. You can also use the leftover of the grinded hazelnuts in a cake or other preparation =)
2/ Almond milk
For 1L of almond milk you need:
- 250g of raw almonds
- water to soak the almonds in
- 1L of water
Repeat the same procedure as for the hazelnut drink but skip the stages d, e, f as you don't need to cook the almonds =)
Et voilà !
Enjoy your tasty drinks!
PS: check out for hazelnut trees in your area instead of heading to the store, it's the season
