Summer Solstice is tomorrow.

We have an early start to making dinner on this fairly hot day, 84 deg F.
Salad: romaine, sliced brussel sprouts, chopped broccoli trees, sweet pickles diced, apple diced, tomatoes diced, red beans, white wheat berries.
2 kinds of dressing:
Tomato: onion, AC vinegar, garlic onion smoked paprika powders, tomato sauce.
Caesar: cauliflower, cashews, water, capers, miso, worcestershire, dijon, garlic powder, lemon juice, nutritional yeast, black pepper.

Have a happy summer, goodbye dear spring.

I noticed last night that there is also a full moon at almost the same time.

I made an Oklahoma Fried Onion Burger for lunch. I'm debating with myself whether to sous vide and sear a nice, thick pork T-bone tonight, or graze on something a bit lighter.

I guess you don't do the low carb, lettuce wrap version of that burger. ;)

Considering how hot it is today and how high the humidex is, I would have probably made a salad for supper. I might have made some sandwiches, or just grazed. But, I had 500 grams of ground pork in the fridge with a best before date of tomorrow, 2021-06-20. So, I figured that I needed to do something with that. I divided it in half and mixed up some frikadelle forcemeat (ground meat with seasonings) that I put in the fridge to hydrate until tomorrow. I used the other half to make "Italienske karbonader". That's Danish for some Italian flavours inspired pork patties, sort of like pork burgers. I also made some potato salad following another Danish recipe. I had made that potato salad before, but I forgot just how much I like it. I also had a piece of rugbrød (heavy, Danish style rye bread) with butter.

If you like pork burgers and Thai flavors, I have a recipe for you. I named it the "York Porky Thai Chili Burger." A few members here will know where the name came from. Recipe link below the photo.

You shared the same recipe this past January. I know, because I have already saved it to CMT. I'll get to it. It sounds good.

I knew I posted it at another forum, but did not recall ever posting it here. I guess I should have done a search before posting.

My late husband had family in Australia. He explained what you get when you get what we call an all dressed hamburger here in Canada. Oh, that is not the same thing as all dressed here. Please explain what all goes on Australian "Burgers with the Lot". I can't remember what all he told me. He had been quite surprised at what he got. 😲 ;)

Sure.
I make mine with lean beef mince patties
Bacon
Lettuce
Cheese
Fried egg
Fried onions
Mustard
Tomato salsa

Options include beetroot slices or pineapple 🫠

The only Australian burger topping I've never quite been able to grasp is beets/beetroot.
