What spice(s) can you use on anything

Sumac comes pretty close for me.

Nutmeg is also highly versatile. Also ginger.
 
Cumin and coriander are pretty good together in savory dishes, although I wouldn't use them in sweets. Cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and ginger are common in sweets in the United States; add ginger and ground black pepper for Chinese Five-Spice Powder or coriander, cumin, and (something else I can't remember) for Lebanese Seven-Spice Seasoning. Cumin and coriander are also in my taco seasoning mix. So many uses for those two, along with others.
 
Hmm, I think cardamom could be used in pretty much anything, sweet or savoury. It might be a bit of a surprise though.
