It seems like there is an imperitive to cook outdoors on Memorial Day. Feeling so compelled, I decided to smoke a boneless pork loin roast. I brined and tied it the off to the Weber. Dinner was the smoked pork loin, baked potatoes and steamed sweet corn.

Just leftovers today. Plus, right now, a smoothie, of banana, pineapple core, and coconut (plus the usual chia seeds I put in them). The best food of the day!

Breakfast was french toast and sausage, plus overnight oats for me.

Dinner was hamburgers and hot dogs of course. Macaroni salad and chips on the side. Will have ice cream sundaes for dessert later on. 20200525_084319.jpg20200525_164754.jpg

Hey Dave, we have a couple of those Williamsburg Pottery mugs. It's like lifting weights when they're full!

The weather was "meh" enough that I told Himself to hold off on grilling steaks until tomorrow. I pulled my last package of Aldi Irish bangers from the freezer, simmered them in beer, and made gravy from the pan drippings loaded with sliced onions and a jar of Heinz beef gravy. Sides were creamy mashed potatoes and peas.

My son and daughter-in-law had us over. They cooked a spiral ham that we made into sandwiches with lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles. I took over some baked beans and we supplemented with chips and cauliflower bites.

Barbecued Sunday and Monday.

Sunday was steaks, pepper kabobs, and portabella mushrooms.
Monday was hot dogs, burgers, and corn.

Potato salad both days. I made the dog and burger buns myself!

Thanks for asking!

Skinless Bratwurst Sausage Sandwiches on toasted rolls spread with Roasted Red Pepper Aioli and topped with melted Savory Cheddar and pickled red onion.

The fresh corn side contained smashed garlic, fresh spinach and butter.

For breakfast I had Grape-Nuts Flakes with blueberries; for lunch I had a hot dog with mustard, a Chef's salad, and lemonade; and for supper I had a home made copycat version of the In-N-Out Double Double Animal Style, skinny fries, and a chocolate malted milk shake.
