Is there a difference between Lao and Hmong cuisines?

I want to try Lao food, but Hmong people came from China and immigrated to Lao/Thai/Vietnam. Does this mean "Hmong" food is actually Lao/Chinese food? Is there a difference? Their foods look very very identical. Like the Lao and Hmong sauces. Or Hmong "egg rolls". Do Hmong people have their own cuisine, or is it a fusion of many other cultures cuisines? Or do Lao people identify as Hmong? Or vice versa?

As I've never had Hmong food either, I can't tell if there's a distinguishable characteristic, especially between Lao and Hmong food).

(I pulled recipes I found for dipping sauces from both people groups, and they are scary similar.)

I just checked Wiki for both cultures. You'd best read them. I looked them up separately as in 'Laos cuisine' and then 'Hmong cuisine'. It seems pretty clear and my take on it is Laos cuisine is just that, Laos. Whereas Hmong is a blend of where ever they are.
