I got my thermometer. but how does this plastic part will bear the heat

Okay, y'all have convinced me. I am having steak for supper tonight, with steak fries and buttered carrots. I am taking one out of the freezer as soon as I decide on ribeye, sirloin or NY strip. I'll cook it on the George Forman because it cuts cooking time in half.
