Using Barkeepers Friend on the SS interior is standard operating procedure for stainless cookware. If the interior is simply discolored without caked on food, you don't even have to scrub. Just add some BKF, moisten and spread it around the interior and the stains will disappear.

As far as the copper exterior, you can leave it as is and accept the stains or remove the lacquer finish and deal with tarnish over the entire surface of the pan.
 
Don't think there is a lacquer on the outside. I once cooked in some copper pans that had some and you know right away there is a coating. It doesn't just discolour! Makes a horrible mess.
