I have a cake recipe I've used several times (https://preppykitchen.com/yellow-cake/) and it yields three 6 in. cakes. I wanted to make a single 9 in cake using the recipe (as I only have 9 in. pans), but I'm unsure how to convert. Using this internet article I found, it states that it takes about 2.33 times the amount of batter that a 6 in. uses to make a 9 in. cake. Is this correct information? It seems like a lot of cake to me. I was thinking just 1.5 times it, but maybe I'm not thinking correctly of volume.
