the old stuff is good - usually better than the new stuff.
sometimes you'll find a real bargain at junk shops and yard sales.
I found a 10" Griswald for $10 - but at a dealer / antique shop it's likely they know the stuff is more valuable . . .

Cast Iron pans now come pre-seasoned so you can start cooking right away.

Just about any hardware store will carry a selection of cast iron cooking gear, usually Lodge brand.

I have a nice cast iron pan I don't use anymore. I'd offer it for $10 to you BUT, shipping charges would be high, so look on facebook marketplace somewhere local where someone is offering one you can pick up.

On FB marketplace I found a set of 3 for $7, with $27 shipping, and 10 other large frying pans in cast iron for between $10 and $20. Search, 'your location' for 'cast iron'.
