My friend from Guyana makes this for her Thanksgiving which she happily celebrates...in Brooklyn. Very good. VERY RED. Serve COLD

Sorrell

2 oz sorrell dried or fresh
1/2 oz fresh ginger
2 inch piece of cinnamon
1 whole clove
8 cups boiling water
Sugar or honey to taste
1/3 cup dry red wine

Steep sorrell and spices in water for about 4-6 hours. Drain, sweeten, add wine if you want, you can leave it out. Serve cold. Great in summer too.

I really like sorrel, but it is not only hard to find here, but rare to find! Oh, this does sound delicious to me!
