Lol, casey. From everything that I'm reading about poke, and the discussion here, you just might be able to.

We do in Hawaii, but over here on the mainland, well, that may be awhile... and THIS is why I LEARNED how to make my own, as Med did!!!

It has only been a few years since 7-Eleven learned how to make decent coffee. I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for good poke.

You can find Poke at several Costco locations here on the Mainland now, as well as in Hawaii. But I still like Foodland for my Poke when we go back home. We were last on Oahu in May 2015 and we had some sort of Poke EVERYDAY!! YUM! At the time, the fish were not plentiful, so the price sky rocketed from $6-8/lb to $17+/lb

can you see the price?

Opihi was $60, very hard to come by and when you do find them, WOW!

Yum, the perfect bite, Opihi and Poi!
DH and I shared this minuscule serving of Opihi and savored each bite.

It's good I read this thread in case I ever run across it in a restaurant or deli. I didn't know poke referred to a fish/seafood dish. I have a friend that loves poke, but it is a green she picks and prepares. https://foragerchef.com/pokeweed/
Poisonous raw but prepared properly delicious and healthy.

I don't like sushi, but I actually like poke.

How did I miss this re-birth?
As @dragnlaw mentioned above, Poke can be whatever you want it to be.
I'm not sure if I ever told y'all this before, so stop me if you heard this already ...
WAY back in the day while DH & I were still working and living on Oahu, he struggled to find a healthy-inexpensive meal while working. He did have a Foodland close at hand and their Poke is legendary! He would buy a 1/2 lb. tub for his meal but said that he wished he had some Rice too. I told him to ask the nice person behind the seafood counter if they had made a pot of Rice that day, he did and the rest is history.
Hot Rice and some sort of protein and/or veg is the boom!!
I like to use a BIG spoon so that I can shovel it into my pie hole as quickly as I can

I was looking for Poke in our local area restaurants. The one I found is called Pokeworks, only about 45 minutes away. They had many options even for us and dozens more.
They are located in many areas across the US. There is a locator function to see all the restaurants.
I tried their Make Your Own, and made all my choices. The sodium was high but the sauce can be on the side so that works. The calories of the bowl I made was 770 which is almost 2 meals worth for $15.99, not bad. I think we'll try it out.
Here's a link to a random location.

I want to try the shoyu flavor. I'd be choosing tofu, edamami, seaweeds for toppings and mix ins, kale, brown rice, and besides mix ins they have toppings and crunchy things.
