My mom used to make these for us when we were kids. Kind of a sloppy joe. I still make them today
MOM's easy MISSILE BURGERS
2 - 6 French Rolls, or another thick bread, slice & open face
1 Lb. Lean Hamburger
1 sm. Onion, chopped
1/4 cup Ketchup, (or less if desired)
2 Tbslp. Worcestershire Sauce
Cheese Slices, any you like
Cook & Drain the Hamburger. Add the Onion and cook until tender.
ADD: the Ketchup & Worcestershire. Cook & stir several minutes.
Lay the Bread, halved & open face, on a cookie sheet or broiler pan.
Lightly Butter & Toast the Bread under the broiler.
Spread the meat mixture over the bread and add the cheese.
Broil until hot & bubbly.
Eat. Smile.
