Club Sandwich

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that enjoys cooking.

I remember clubs always coming with fries and dill pickle slices on the side.

different places would sometimes substitute potato chips for the french fries.

In either case - loved them. And yes, :yum: this gut still has room for the whole kit'n-kaboodle. :pig:

Personally, I never order a Club House Sandwich, but my husband does on a regular basis.
When I make this at home, it's:
2 pieces, not 3, of very lightly toasted Rye Bread
a piece of turkey, ham, maybe 3-4 pieces of cooked bacon and tomato,
that's it!
No butter, mayo, nothing, it's dry toast for him, oh and no lettuce, he doesn't care for that either, so.
I cut the sandwich into only 2 triangles and no picks.
Served with potato chips and Ginger Ale over loads of crushed ice.
He eats it ALL! :LOL::pig::rolleyes:

So what you make is a turkey and bacon sandwich.

Whatever. It was a fun thread and there were lots of different ideas.

I put a double decker on special some times I call the Deli Club. It is one half smoked meat(pastrami) and the other half is assorted cold cuts, cheese tomato and lettuce. Pretty impressive looking sandwich....

I hate those frilly toothpicks too.

Curmudgeon. Frilly toothpicks are a must, as is cutting the club into triangles. (Spits out cellophane)

I guess I could try one with Rock's non-frilly picks, but to me, it wouldn't be the same.

I would SO order that. :yum: :)

When I was catering I preferred to use bamboo toothpicks like this
