A substitute for dry ranch dressing

I want to make taco soup and the recipe calls for a package of dry ranch dressing. Could I substitute ranch dressing instead? Thanks a bunch!

no you need the package of the mix -- I make that recipe all the time love it. I use black beans in it somtimes

Ranch dressing might be (a) too wet and (b) too sweet, depending on the recipe.
