taxlady, Yes, I let it sit at room temperature temp, at first, as I figured that it would flavor up faster, then put it in the fridge, where I store it indefinitely. If used quickly, it would probably store indefinitely at room temp, like plain fish sauce, but I don't use it fast enough - the reason I keep fish sauce refrigerated, as well.
