I just got a beer roaster pan and am going to use chicken broth in the tube for the whole chicken and was wanting to know if you use beer does it have a bitter taste or does heating the beer change the taste a lot?

I've had the beer roaster device for at least 10 years and love it. As for the beer, you don't really taste it. And, if you did, it would have to be extremely slight.

The only thing I would advise is to put the whole thing, roaster and chicken, into a disposable aluminum 8-in. x 8-in pan before placing it on the grill. You'll avoid any flare ups and catch some of the tasty juices.

It's an awesome tool and you'll discover the chicken that results is about as juicy and tender as any you could imagine.

You can use any liquid in the can--water, soda, beer, broth. You don't get much (if any) flavor from it.

That said, I love beef stew made with beer. And if you use a light American style beer, there is almost no bitterness, just a rich, almost yeasty flavor. Try it sometime.
