Our corn is in season here (WI-USA). I cut off the corn from a dozen cobs and came up with 4lbs 4 ounces for about $1/lb, a good price compared to frozen in the stores.
I won't blanch it since I'll be using it soon for making soups.
I usually don't blanch it and I love how it turns out. The normal way is to blanch it for 4 minutes before freezing it for longer storage.

I pick from our garden then strip it and cut into bite size pieces (3) then freeze. No branching. When cooking I take from frozen add butter rubbed and s and p. Wrapped in foil straight onto the bbq.
