What type pan do you use the most?

What type pan do you find that you use the most? I use a dutch oven for so many things. I have one heavy 5 quart stainless one I use the most and then I have one lightweight nonstick one I use occasionally for like green beans or sometimes a quick saute and noodles dish. I used to use a deep...

Sheet pan ham steak with green beans and sweet potatoes

We might need a sheet pan cooking section just a suggestion. This had a honey mustard sauce. Next time I'll probably try a citrus brown sugar sauce because that's what I usually like on my ham but it was good.

    11x7 baking dish

I spent a couple of hours online looking at what was available in 11x7 casserole or baking dishes. What little there was was too heavy and too deep. So I went on eBay and bought myself a vintage Pyrex 11x7 with handles and I think I'm going to love it.

    Corn spoonbread

I love this recipe and I would make it more often if I didn't forget about buying green onions. Usually have on hand everything else. It has cornmeal and milk base and wants that thickens, you add salt, red pepper, cheese, two eggs, corn and butter and then bake it. Put part of the cheese on top.

Tempted to get a rotary drum manual shredder

But I'm going to resist the temptation. It just looks like so much fun to put the cheese through one while you're turning the handle, and I know everyone says that bagged shredded cheese isn't as good as fresh shredded cheese off the block because of additives, but in reality I have never had...

Stonehenge Roasted Poblano King Ranch Chicken

My title is tongue and cheek. I have a feud with a guy on another website who thinks you can just put anything in the casserole and call it King Ranch Chicken. So I veered slightly off the Rotel recipe and thought I better come up with a different name. King Ranch Chicken casserole uses cooked...

Daisy Sour Cream French Onion Dip

Yasss! I always find the grocery store French onion dips too strong. What I have been doing for potato chip dip is buying Daisy sour cream and then mixing it with a carton of Dean's French onion dip. Which is a pretty good way to do it because you end up with a pile of dip. I was shopping...

My favorite super easy super fast no chop beef and shells

This is literally a 20 minute recipe and it's good because it has better than bouillon beef paste in it. 1 lb ground beef One and a half teaspoons salt 1 teaspoon onion powder 1 teaspoon garlic powder 2 teaspoons better than bouillon roasted beef flavor stirred into 2 cups hot water 15 oz. Can...

    Made chicken nachos

I made special chicken nachos today. Stewed chicken in pico de gallo. Monterey jack on top of the chicken. And then I made a sour cream enchilada sauce and topped the nacho and put them in the oven. A long time ago these are my favorite type nachos at a restaurant that no longer exists and...

    Need chef opinion on flambe

So here in Texas, a lot of Mexican restaurants offer a flambeed queso. It's white cheese which is often just monterey jack, heated and a shallow oven proof dish until it's melted. The kind I like is called hongos con queso and it has poblanos and mushrooms in it. Another type has chorizo. At...

    Red potato microwave kit

I don't know if you seen them and I just now noticed them, but in my store they are in the produce section right up in there with the other potatoes. They are microwaves kits with tiny potatoes and a flavor packet. You microwave them for five and a half minutes and then you break the seal and...

What size meatballs do you like for spaghetti?

I have never really mastered meatballs. I've only had one recipe that turned out kind of okay but wouldn't be on my favorite list compared to stuff at restaurants that I've had. An inexpensive Italian restaurant near me used to make tiny meatballs and I just loved them. They stopped doing that...

    I learned my lesson

I have one of those meatloaf pans with the handles that you can pull the meatloaf out so it's not all greasy and I've only used it twice. I can't remember what I did the first two times but that's greasy as me so easily is I wasn't worried about greasing the pan since it's non-stick, but it...

    Boursin Chicken - easy

There is a recipe going around on the internet called Boursin Chicken. It is few ingredients and you can find it on the internet just by googling Boursin Chicken. I made it today. It is easy enough and has a nice flavor. The recipe calls for 3/4 cup chicken stock. I think a half cup would have...

Edit post question plus other question

I found one answer to this but it showed an edit feature that wasn't showing up at least on my Android. I'm on my PC now, so not sure yet. How to edit a post you just made? Other question: What section or thread is good for posting comments and/or photos from eating out at restaurants...

Pimiento Cheese - no cream cheese type

Pimiento cheese is perfect for this hot weather and I made some today. I don't do the traditional Southern pimiento cheese with cream cheese. That's great for crackers and dip. I like this version for sandwiches. It's sweet and vinegary. I have made it with a variety of cheese and you certainly...
