2 ounces bourbon
1 ounce simple syrup
3 ounces milk
1/4 t vanilla extract
freshly grated nutmeg
Pour all ingredients over ice in a metal shaker. Shake vigorously until well chilled and frothy. Strain over ice into 12-oz tall glass. Sprinkle with nutmeg.
Substitute bourbon with brandy for a variation.
