    Egg substitutes for egg whites?

    If you have to use a substitute (vegan, for example), you could try flax seed powder mixed with water. But I'm not sure how well it would work in your recipe and it won't taste the same. Or maybe a different brand of egg substitute?: Cook's Illustrated tests egg white substitutes - Slashfood

    That's a pretty good idea about those ketchup and mustard bottles. A syringe might work if you removed the needle (unless you have really thin filling).

    The toad was probably just hiding there, it wouldn't have any reason to be digging up vegetables. (And it probably couldn't have depending on how small it is).
