Does anyone (UK) out there do a good wine to drink with sausages? Some of the stuff I've seen tastes good with it but I'm yet to find something specifically to bring out the flavour of the banger.

Aside from sticking the bangers around the edge is there anything else one can do to get sausages to cook more slowly on the BBQ? I prefer mine cooked under the grill but the wife said we should have some at our first BBQ of the year, but I found them a little blackened despite my best...
Does anyone here have any experience of boiling sausages? Its something I'm yet to try and I'm not sure what the results would be like...

At the moment I make a simple ice cream by mixing:
Large pot of double cream
Large pot of natural yoghurt
Jar of jam
The ice cream tastes great but is a little hard to serve...can anyone recommend how I might make it softer so that I do not need to get it out of the freezer for a while before...
