I know there are many preferences for which grill. If I'd listened to all my friends or neighbors, I'd probably buy a Weber. But I didn't because I have certain cooking and product quality preferences. Here's why I bought a Huntington, though I must say that Huntington's web site, product information and customer service is pretty darned poor. I had to buy through Lowe's.
1) the "firebox" construction is important to me: I'm sick of grills ("good quality" ones, rated well by Consumer Reports) that have a stainless steel (SS) firebox ... that rusts out in 2-4 years. Yes: most stainless boxes (especially if the SS was sourced from ... China) do NOT last, especially in damp climates or if you cover them (and moisture sits underneath your grill cover). So I went Huntington because it's cast iron, and coated. Unless dropped ... it should last. I could not find a large capacity cast aluminum firebox.
2) the orientation of the burners: I like to segment my cooking from right to left with cooking areas. The Weber burners run from side-to-side, and I find that difficult to properly segment my cooking the way I like to organize it. Huntington, and Sears, grills orient their burners front-to-back so it's easy to have right side vs. left side cooking at different temps/speeds.
3) Price is reasonable.
4) made in North America, and I believe most of the materials are North American made or sourced. Weber: materials are not N.A. I like to put N.A. workers ... to work. The firebox SS used in my last Sears/Kenmore is China sourced ... well-rated grill ... rusted out totally in < 3 yrs. Not gonna do SS firebox again!
So there you have it - some folks will try to pressure you into buying Weber or whatever ... use YOUR OWN HEAD and rationale, you'll get the grill you want.
