Where to get pork hocks

I have been to 5 grocery stores and no one has them. Where can I get them?

I'd start by asking someone who works in the meat department to order some for you.

I have never had trouble finding ham hocks in any grocery store anywhere in the US, and I have lived in a LOT of places. Have you asked someone in the meat department? Have you tried a meat market or butcher shop?

If you REALLY can't find a ham hock, you can substitute a smoked turkey leg.

That's an excellent suggestion. They will probably also be cheaper there.

Wisconsin is a farming state. You should be able to find local meat processors, aka butchers,bwho can get you fresh, or smoked hams, hocks, trotters, any part of the pig/cow you want. Plus, when you purchase a whole. or half animal, you pay far less per lb. than at markets. See if there are butcher shops near you.

Omigosh! I see these all the time in my local grocery store and have several packages in my freezer to make soup.
