Hi all

I bought a bottle of saffron gin but it was almost £30 a bottle, so took it upon myself and I made my own!

I bought a cheapo bottle of gin as this was a test and simply, in a metal bowel added a half tea-spoon of saffron. Note, it was a cheapie saffron I picked up on my travels but smell and effect after about 3 hours stewing was really good.

Highly recommended.

Goodness, have never heard of Saffron Gin. I guess I shouldn't be surprised and there are so many flavoured Gins & Vodkas.

Although I rarely drink hard liquor (I'm a whiner winer) I'm interested to know how or what do you mix it with?

Hi Dragnlaw,

Here is link for Saffron gin:

Saffron Gin | Gabriel Boudier, since 1874

I mix it, as normal with tonic but I am sure a good mixer can do other wonders. We had a G&T evening and tasting at mine a long time back and the saffron gin can top, BUT it in some ways demands you like the saffron flavour, but personally I love it!

Will say my home-made cheapo is tasting pretty good !
