Potato pizza

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that enjoys cooking.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
You can put unoiled parchment paper on a baking stone. No-knead bread recipes sometimes call for that.

Btw, I said "she" can call it pizza if she wants - did not say you said it. Also, the recipe headnote calls it a knife-and-fork pizza.
I didn't actually pay much attention to what was written on the web site since I caught the show and then searched for the link to post it. I think one can play the episode on the 'Net. I don't usually do that since I don't have unlimited Internet use (still in the dark ages of Internet in rural Ottawa).

I made a potato pizza with walleye, cheese etc. It was so good, I made another, the next day, only this time I used bacon & wild asparagus, both were great. You gotta try this!

Boy, people sure get hung up on titles. Why not just enjoy the recipe? And then call it what ever you want?

Where's the crust? It is more of a Vegetable Medley. Call it what it is. Sorry not a pizza.

Addie, you use a pizza crust, then instead of using a sauce, you spread mashed potato's for the sauce in a thin layer and top it with what ever you like.
After all, it's just bread & potato's. You can do beef, chicken, veggies, what ever you think goes with bread & potato's. Give it a try and let me know what you think. Your a fish gal, I know you'll come up with something! Joey

I think Addie was referring to the "pizza" in the first post. The one that uses sliced potatoes instead of crust.

Maybe it could be called "pizza" with the quotes, because it looks like a pizza. I think it sounds delicious.

+ 1. My grandson loves what I call 'mini pizzas' which are so far from the real thing...toasted English muffins with sausage, sauce, bell peppers, and cheese. And my beef stroganoff is probably way off the 'authentic' chart. :)

I think that's closer to the real thing than a potato crust. At least it has all the right types of ingredients.

To me, it's a matter of effective communication. If someone invited me to dinner and told me they were serving pizza, I would not be expecting a potato crust and no sauce.

I think this stems in part from my background as a PC technical support specialist. Many people don't know what the various components of computers are called and so when you're trying to troubleshoot a problem, you have to question them carefully to find out what may have caused it. I can't tell you how many times people have said, "well, that's just what I call it," when you try to teach them the correct terminology.

That's why we have language and definitions - to facilitate effective communication.

I see no reason to continue belaboring the point here. The Author of the recipe is on a different site. How about we discuss the recipe and if it sounds good or what tasty additions we could make. The name of the recipe is moot.
