Marlingardener
Sous Chef
Sir Loin, I loved your post! Oh, if only you had been on Ramsey's show. You would have heard cheers from near and far!
Slightly off topic--my hairdresser's son-in-law was a chef at a high end restaurant in Austin. He said the hardest part of being a chef was kitchen management. All of the kitchen workers had tasks and had to do them well. Yelling at people certainly did not help the work environment, and if one person walked off the job then everyone had to work that station, and felt pressed. He made sure to go to each station and ask how things were going, any advice needed, and thank the worker. He had a happy, efficient crew who willingly went the extra mile for him.
