Does bacon turn beef brown?

I recently purchased some bacon wrapped sirloin fillets, and after two days in the refrigerator, when I unwrapped the fillets, I noticed that where the bacon had been touching the beef it that the beef had turned brown. Is this normal? I'm not sure if these steaks are safe to eat now. There rest of the beef, where the bacon had not been in contact, was red like I would expect uncooked beef to be.
 
I'd eat them. I suppose the cure chems from the bacon could affect beef color in contact areas, but two days in the fridge is not suspect for 'gone bad'
