It reminds me that somewhere around here, we have a forum where people post pictures of their crafts and tell us what they are up to. I haven't seen any posts in that forum in quite a while. Maybe someone else remembers what it's called. I think it was something about what else you do besides cooking.

being an engineer often leads one down a path of "even I can do better than that" -
somethings are incredible stupid - like a recipe card holder . . . actually I have (seriously) abbreviated 'recipes' on 3x5 cards - for the 'stuff I do all the time'
so I came up with this:

it has a slit in the front to tilt-hold the card. . .

my knife collection + kitchen shears + thermometers + measuring spoons . . . got to the point where nothing 'commercially available' worked, so I ....

and SIL, once a line chef, coveted my block, so I did a semi replica . . .
