I was going to buy a blender but then I found a juicer in the back of my closet. Just wondering what the difference is and what a blender can do that a juicer can't do and vice-versa.
I am going to start making smoothies which of course requires a blender. Do you go by quality and cost. That is, the more expensive an item is the better quality that it probably is. Where is a good, reliable opinion?
Include salmon,herring fillers, ma kerala, beef, spam etc. in that question. I admit I have never eaten canned meats except tuna. Any risks or disadvantages etc.

I always throw out the juice from frying hamburger because it changes the taste of a recipe. I forgot to do that this time when making mac and cheese with hamburger added and it gave the taste of the dish something that wasn't good. Can anyone relate?
for instance: a recipe called for chopped parsley leaves but I didn't have any so I used parsley flakes out of the bottle. Will the results taste as good?
