    Reasonably sealed Trail Mix

I got a gumball machine and it is awesome. I don't like candy. I purchased clear plastic containers that can be filled. Just like you see in any regular vending machine. I would not say they have a perfect seal on them. I am not sure what to fill them with. I was thinking trail mix or some...

    ISO help/advice dehydrating mushrooms

I know it has been a while but ended up using A-1 Steak sauce. And I used toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much. I made them in December and then put them in the fridge ( but I don't think I really needed too). They were so tough I thought I was going to break a tooth. I tried to...

    Fermenting

I have finally discovered the art of fermentation and love it. I started out with sauerkraut, and it was amazing. So I bought a kit with lids and weights. I made some ketchup. On my second batch of kraut I was a little more daring and let it ferment for about a week before putting it into...

    ISO help/advice dehydrating mushrooms

http://brokeassgourmet.com/articles/mushroom-bacon This is not the recipe I tried but close. I could not find the one I used. I also used portabella cause they are my favorite. I live in mushroom country and can get them whenever I want.

    ISO help/advice dehydrating mushrooms

I made a recipe before where I dehydrated mushrooms in the oven to use as bacon. They worked well as bacon bits. I now have a dehydrator and would like to try it that way. The recipe had them tossed in oil and seasoned. I'm pretty sure I can't use the oil in the dehydrator. So how would I...

    Coffee press and vanilla bean.

I ended up scraping it and putting it right in the coffee. It was good but not great. Gonna put it right in the press tomorrow.

    Coffee press and vanilla bean.

I typically make an organic Sumatra coffee on the weekends and then ruin it with coffee mate for cream. But for tomorrow I have vanilla bean. Do I scrape it into the press, or add it to my coffee mug or something completely different. Any suggestions would be wonderful.

    Dough not attaching to itself.

So I made it again tonight. I added a little bit more milk for a wetter dough. And it came out awesome. So I'm not sure if I wrote it wrong or what but thanks for all your help.

Thank you. I'll give it a try.

    Dough not attaching to itself.

I think the dough blade in that thing is a bad idea. I used all the wet ingredients. For the first rise I put in a bowl and brush it with oil to keep it wet. Then I cover the bowl with saran wrap.

    Dough not attaching to itself.

The water was warm not hot. Those are the ingredients. The best loaf was not done in my bread machine.

I looked at it again just to check but it's not there. I know it existed.

    Dough not attaching to itself.

Yes. Although this time I thought it should have risen a bit more. But it stopped. I mixed it in my food processor with a dough blade. But broke the blade. I felt that it might not have been kneeded well enough. The plan was to let it rise the first time and if it wasn't successful I was going...

    Dough not attaching to itself.

I have made this recipe several times and the first time was the best. I copied the recipe to a card and forgot to copy the instructions to it. It was a seven grain bread from the Bob's red mill bag. And I can't find it on the bag or anywhere. So that's why the first time I made it it was the...

    Chef John's ciabatta is flat

Rpcookin Yes that is what I was looking for. Maybe the size of a slice of salami. Do you make it flat when your shaping it?

    Chef John's ciabatta is flat

http://foodwishes.blogspot.com/2009/01/no-knead-ciabatta-bread-you-can-believe.html?m=1 I guess the second picture looked bigger. But the first one looks like mine turned out. I wonder if I were to not flatten it out as much if it would be bigger?

    Chef John's ciabatta is flat

I've made this a few times and it always turns out long and flat. In the video it seems to rise a bit more upwards then mine. The bread itself is awesome in every way. Its just flat. The last step is to flatten it out. And it's supposed to grow upwards in the oven. Should I form it more round or...

Lemon always tastes bad in tea.

If I use lemon juice in a bottle I don't have a problem. If I go to a restaurant and squeeze there lemon into the tea I tastes great. Am I missing something.

Lemon always tastes bad in tea.

When I make iced tea with fresh lemon the lemon always tastes bad. I thought it was being put in when the tea was still warm. But I have been cutting in wedges and adding it as into each cup. It still tastes bitter no matter how fresh the lemon is. Any suggestions.

I want to get a bread maker.

So my Mom got me a Panasonic. I have used it two times. I like that fact that you just set it and walk away. The first I made was a french bread recipe. It was great. Made french toast and it was awesome. The second loaf was an herb bread. I used different herbs then they asked for. When...
