Looking for an Awesome Cinnamon Roll Recipe

No nuts and raisins in that one... I personally didn't mind because I don't like those in my cinnamon rolls, but I'm sure you could just add them in. I really encourage you to try that recipe though - it's SO good! Tastes really close to Cinnabon.

Storing pre-mixed dry ingredients for banana bread?

Hello! It's been a while since I've been around here, but I know all of you are extremely wise when it comes to kitchen knowledge so I'm wondering if you wouldn't mind helping me out with something. My boyfriend has a great banana bread recipe that everyone loves - he gets so many requests for...

    NY Times bread recipe--what FUN

I made this bread last week and it was great! It ended up being three loaves; they were gone within a few days (special thanks to some of my sisters' friends who couldn't stop eating it... lol). I'll definitely make this again! It's dangerous though - really tough to resist eating it all when...

Am I the only diet soda fan?

I love Diet Coke and Fresca, but I don't drink them all that often. Most of the time I can be found sipping water. But never regular sodas! I find that they leave an awful aftertaste.

    ISO uses for herbs

I got in the habit of adding mint leaves to my green tea last summer. I'm sure you could do similar things with yours.

ISO advice on how not to kill an herb garden?

What have you planted? My mother always has an herb garden and so far it's done pretty well no matter what. Usually she grows basil, oregano, rosemary, peppermint, lavender, spearmint, and a few others that she changes up every year. So far it's just been a matter of watering them. They've all...

Homemade cake frosting that's soft and creamy

How hard do you want it to dry? I've used the Wilton recipe and it hardens nicely, but it's not rock-solid like royal icing. Are you looking to use this for cakes, cookies, or something else? Once I know that I can probably help you. :)

Just wondering ... what is everyone reading now?

"The Hungry Years: Confessions of a Food Addict" by William Leith. Cleverly written and very informative about food's effects on the body, the truth behind popular diets, the low-carb vs. low-fat debate, and so on. I recommend it.

    Candied Orange Peels

How exactly do you make this? Anyone got a recipe? It sounds really interesting.

    Losing the pounds

In addition to what everyone else has said, I would like to add that you shouldn't skip the crunches altogether. Although they won't help you magically lose weight from your midsection alone, they'll eventually help you slim down all over. Doing crunches will build up your abdominal muscles...

    Pretty pie edge?

These ideas are all so nice! Next time I make a pie I'll consult this thread for inspiration. Thanks everyone!

    Anybody tried fasting before

I haven't done the Master Cleanse, but I've heard that many people can't stand it. I'd be interested to know how others have fared with it because I've been considering it for a while.

    Anybody tried fasting before

Tdiprincess - I agree with the first bit of what you've written. Fasting for weight loss purposes can be dangerous, especially if you don't know what you're doing. Many people make the mistake of breaking a fast by indulging in whatever it is they've been craving during their food-free days...

    Chocolate cups

I love this idea! Next time I have an occasion (and some time!) to make a nice dessert, I'll definitely try these. :)

    Famous Family

My stepdad is supposedly related to Walt Whitman. He's also a guitarist for Blood, Sweat, and Tears who has also toured with Meatloaf, Pieces of a Dream, and some others I'm not remembering at the moment. My half brother (on my biological dad's side) is a photographer and producer in LA, but I...

    Cake Pan Sizes

^^^ That's what I would do. Just keep an eye on them as they bake; the cooking time in the recipe was calculated for a different size pan.

    ISO a tnt custard pie

Hi! I don't actually know what you're referring to, but I use a recipe for banana cream pie that you might be able to adapt: Granny's Banana Cream Pie Recipe | Recipezaar. Just don't put the sliced bananas into the shell before pouring in the custard, and it seems like you'll be all set. The...

Homemade cake frosting that's soft and creamy

It's sweet... maybe about average in terms of frosting? The taste of the butter kind of balances it out nicely though. It definitely isn't overkill; I hate frosting like that too.

Homemade cake frosting that's soft and creamy

I just used the recipe I linked to (second post) and it came out great! Very creamy, perfect consistency for spreading. I definitely recommend that :)

Homemade cake frosting that's soft and creamy

Try this: Kittencal's Creamy White Buttercream Frosting/Icing Recipe | Recipezaar I used the author's chocolate icing recipe for a cake I made last week and the consistency was very good. It's very forgiving in that you can play with ingredient amounts until the texture is the way you want it...

What's the last movie you watched?

Wow, flashback! I used to watch that all the time when I was about 5. Makes me want to see it again now that I know who all the voice actors were. Lol.
