    The Chief died?

Can someone please point me to a thread about it? It should be easily avalilable to see on both the old and new layouts. I haven't been here in a long time, and tbe BEST of us died. I can find nothing but a friend's message.

What's the last movie you watched?

Could be. We are simpatico in every sense. I was in a hotel for work (short turnaround less than 8 hurs between shifts) and had time to kill while I was supposed to sleep. The sweet little love story filled the time.

What's the last movie you watched?

Lol. Wait. I hope we're talking about the Emma Thompson flick. My wife makes fun of me for liking chick flicks like Last Christmas, and Bridesmaids. My defense is Ars Gratia Artis.

What's the last movie you watched?

Well, yeah. The queen of dragons falls in love with a perfectly romantic ghost. Duh. Old story. Ever hear of the Ghost and Mrs. Muir? Lol, one of my recent faves, Last Christmas.

Dishwasher detergent that won't completely dissolve

Pods are expected to completely dissolve in hot water, but it looks like there isn't enough flow/spray/pressure. How old is the unit? What brand? It could be the pump is dying, which isn't worth replacing. Buy a new one. We ordered a new dishwasher on Black Friday (the day after American...

What's the last movie you watched?

I'm watching Facing Ali. It's a documentary of interviews with 10 boxers that faced Muhammad "Cassius Clay" Ali. If you are a fan of "The Sweet Science", no matter what you think of Ali - pro or con, this is a good watch. My son is about to have his first MMA "smoker" fight in a couple of...

Dishwasher detergent that won't completely dissolve

Check to make sure you're getting good water pressure to the machine. Also, check the water input line. There might be a screen in the connector that is getting clogged, thus reducing input flow.

Is grating salt rock just a gimmick?

Oh, yes, I understand, pepp. I liove kimchi, and durian, and the stinkier the cheese, the better. Although I'm not a fan of ammonia tadting foods, like shark, and overripe brie. And I won't go out of my way for kombucha. I remember having a strange German wine at a wedding once that was only...

    Petty Vents

Apologies for the profanity, PF. It was for effect. Anyway, getting back to squares. My car battery died again yesterday. I bought this car 3 years ago, and the first battery only lasted 2 years. This one lasted only a year. The last time, my car was stuck in the city overnight with 2 windows...

What's your weather right now? 2022

Another rainy night, with the freight train sounding winds over the mountain. Spring clean up in the yard is gonna be fun this year.

Is grating salt rock just a gimmick?

Lol about the asafoetida, or Devil's Dung. But the black salt that I got smells terribly of rotten eggs. Like the way the Chief stores a dozen eggs in a sunny widow for a couple of months before Halloween, for chucking at cars and trick-or-treaters. I can't imagine wanting that taste in...

Official Dinner Thread for Tuesday the 22nd

Oh man, that looks good. I think the chef did, too. There's a half an egg missing... lol. I didn't know that Jonah Crabs are indigenous to the North Atlantic, but apparently they go all the way from Canada to Florida. I always thought of them as a southern thing.

Wow, that looks good. It's making me crave Middle Eastern food.

Is grating salt rock just a gimmick?

Lol, pepp, about the aroma of black salt. I was given a bottle of it once, and I've been wondering who I should give it to as a gag gift, or maybe use for revenge.

REQUEST for ADVICE to rescue sauce

I agree about A1 and HP not being exactly the same. I'd say more like close cousins, but not twins. I need to make a full Irish breakfast soon. Sunny side up eggs, streaky rashers, and a baked herbed tomato are easy to acquire, but it'll be tough to find good black and white puddings.

Sorta Mediterranean. Isn't orzo Greek? Looks good, Chief. This would be a great side for braised lamb shanks.

REQUEST for ADVICE to rescue sauce

I haven't had Haich P sauce in a long time. I prefer A1 sauce, but HP will do just the same. Lol, I don't think I've ever bought it, though. A bottle from my local Irish pub always seemed to follow me home. My local supermarkets have a tiny section for Irish and British goods. Things like...

Is grating salt rock just a gimmick?

I love the expiration date on my container of Himalayan pink salt. It was in the ground for eons, but now that it's in a jar, it's about to go bad. And I have a matching battery operated pepper and salt grinders. The salt is kinda silly, but it looks neat. You have to be careful to only put...

    Petty Vents

Yes, I heard that calling folks homeless is prejudicial. Getting the terminology seems more important than helping them, tho. Back in the 90s and early 2000s, though, there was a big problem with people living on the streets. I remember it being a problem on many skiing trips to...

How do you make your chili powder

I've been planning on making a few dishes that require chili powder (one is African, one is American), and while I've made my own from certain dried chilis, I was wondering if anyone else has a standard mix of dried peppers, or maybe different mixes for different regional cuisines. Whaddya...
