It has no business tasting this good casserole

Agreed. But they do acquire the ingredients when following, or trying to duplicate, a recipe. There are many things I do not keep on hand because they would spoil before I found a use for them. I simply do not use/eat them often enough to stock.

Same here. Find some recipes you like, then combine them to remain as true as you can using what is available or what methods they are calling for, but still be able to be called "Carl's mook" and have it taste like Carl intended it to taste. Not that there's anything wrong with throwing...

    Random Photo Thread: The Sequel

Yeah, something to do with the growth plates not closing correctly if they don't get their hormones. Along with certain features, especially in males. They don't get that muscular look and blocky head if they are snipped too soon. Some vets will recommend not neutering a male if it is diagnosed...

    Random Photo Thread: The Sequel

No, I don't breed. It's healthier for the dog (males too) to let them go through puberty before spaying or neutering. Especially a large breed dog. And it helps the females to be more feminine and the males more masculine to get that shot of hormones. I always wait until the dog is 1-1/2 to 2...

    Random Photo Thread: The Sequel

The first pic didn't show up for me either. Shih Tzus are one of my favorite little dogs. Cute face. Here's my pup Kimber a couple days ago not liking her new undies. It hasn't gotten much better :ermm:

Comparing high German vs. low German cooking

+1 I have no idea where you are going with this either. Was your mother high or low? Where is your comparison?

What's the last movie you watched?

The storyline interests me, but I don't like musicals. Kind of a quandry. I may have to get the book.

Dinner Plans Friday the First of August?

Dinner plans were tacos, but Vidalia onion and cheddar on Ritz crackers is probably going to suffice.

What's the last movie you watched?

CGI? I saw something on the making of the movie and it showed actors wearing arm extensions learning to walk like an ape. I'm sure the hundreds of apes scenes were CGI, but I'm not so sure about the closeups and individual shots. Wow. And oldy but a goldy.

Guess what this is a photo of!

We have a winner! Did it take the hint I posted this morning? It's my post-it above my prep area so I remember the order I like my chicken, sausage, pepper and onion kebabs in. The idea, according to the recipe, is to always have the chicken touching an open end of the sausage. This...

    What's on the Grill?

Lately I can't get enough of that chicken and chorizo recipe I posted a while ago. I've changed it up some, sometimes using dark meat along with white, or Italian sausage because it's easier to get. And last night I used Berbere seasoning in place of smoked paprika. I'm still tasting that one...
