    Teaching a new Generation

   That is the MAGIC BRICK! The cooker will not work without the MAGIC BRICK. It keeps the firebox lid closed just right because the lid is warped just a little. It also helps me check the temperature in the fire box. It has to feel just right when there is a fire going I can...

    Slow Goes It, Slow Roasting

I finally got to the bottom of a stack of Food Sections from the Washington Post that have been stacking on my living room hassock. I particularly thought this one would be of interest to you all. After all, barbecue is a style of slow roasting over a wood or gas heat source. :D link

    Fire!

From what I have read, I think there may be confusion between flour and sugar and BAKING SODA . BTY if you have a Webber kettle or such you have a perfect lid to smother a fire. THINGS HAPPEN VERY QUICKLY WITH A FIRE, AND YOU DON'T HAVE A LOT OF TIME TO THINK, SO ALWAYS HAVE A PLAN IN THE...

    My First offical cook

Go ahead, just be sure to put in a thermal probe in the butt and make sure you allow yourself enough time to finish without the pressure an important deadline( like 25 guests arriving) . I usually cook one the day before and reheat it when it is time for the serving. The butt is done at...

    Beans and Ham

There is nothing more special than the family ham, cooked up at Christmas and the leftovers last throughout the rest of the year. I have ham bones in the freezer that are a couple of years old. Every now and then I pull one out just for beans or greens or whatever I am cooking. Chris Adapted...
