How do you butter your corn on the cob?

I've used one of those things for years. It's great. It has a cap so you can just cover it and put it into the fridge for the next meal. BC

All-Clad stainless - Is it worth it?

Thanks GB. I'll keep looking for a good deal on All Clad. I am curious about it. BC

All-Clad stainless - Is it worth it?

From reading all of these posts about All Clad vs. whomever, All Clad seems to win out every time. Since the others have fans of their own, I still can't imagine that All Clad would be worth triple what every other brand costs. So I have to ask the All Clad owners, do you feel that your foods...

Have they stopped making microwaves without turntables?

I liked the ones without the turntable too, but couldn't find one when I bought my last one either. I don't see any pronounced difference in how the food cooks now that I have the turntable. I liked it better without too. BC

    Fred Astaire

I always marvel at his talent. Much as I will agree that Ginger had to do it all backwards and in heels, there's an ease to his movements that his partners did not quite attain, and I'm not knocking them in the least. He's just that impressive. BC

    Corian on knives

That's what I use my Corian board for, so I wouldn't get rid of it, but I wouldn't cut on it either. BC

    Knives for gifts!

We always do a variation of that too, Bucky. We ask the person for a penny, because you should never gift a knife. Bad luck would follow. So they buy it from you for a penny. You could put a penny in the gift box too, and that would be the gift - the knife would just go along with it. BC

Worms on Broccoli? Still ok to eat?

What a story Constance! Much as I love the stuff, I think it will be awhile before I buy broccoli again. No need to watch my diet with you guys around! LOL BC

Worms on Broccoli? Still ok to eat?

Sorry Bucky. Some people are cut out for killing, plucking, deworming, etc., and some are not. Everyone has something that makes them squeamish. God bless the people who can do that, along with the nurses and doctors and vets of the world, and the sanitation workers too. I just can't do it...

Worms on Broccoli? Still ok to eat?

LOL! I was just thinking that very same thing. I know that it grows where worms reside, but I could not eat broccoli that had worms in it/on it in the hope that they would boil out. The very thought makes me  ! BC

Marlboro Cook Like A Man Cookbook

Did someone say it was a collector's item? I don't think I have that one. Can you post a recipe? BC

    Which warehouse do you prefer?

I've never heard of BJ's, but I used to belong to Sam's Club, and have at least been in a Costco, but won't be joining either of them anytime soon. There are only two of us, and either you have to buy too many of an item or the container of a product is too big for us to finish before it gets...

    Show me Your Desktop!

You guys have made my plain ol' Mutts cartoon desktop look boring, so I changed it. Here's the new and improved pic of my Bob Cat. BC

When Do You Send the Wine Back?

GB, that sounds correct to me too. If it's turned, by all means, send it back, but if it's simply that you don't know that that type of wine tastes like, and don't like it once you taste it, it's certainly not the restaurant's fault. BC

    Favorite Bumper Sticker

What is your weather like right now?

I don't think you'd want to trade places with me. It is 95° with a heat index of 110°. BC

    Do you like ironing!

I like nicely pressed clothes, but I don't like to iron. It's so time consuming!! And I always have a cat who wants to hop up on the board to see what I'm up to. It's very distracting, and kind of dangerous! BC

    Radishes with butter

My mom always slices them and puts them into some good tasting oil. I think the fat (oil or butter) cuts the bite. BC

    Happy Birthday Bluecat

Thanks so much everybody. Yes, MM, the new watering hole is Emmett's Ale House and it was very nice. I'm not the biggest fan of beer, but they had some very tasty ones. They offer a sampler of 5 small glasses of your choice, and there were some really nice ones. One had an aftertaste hint of...

Do you use Tivo or a DVR?

Well, I'll be getting my local cable company's version of TiVo tomorrow. I can't wait to try it. I got a DVD recorder for my birthday, so this should open up a whole new world of TV for me! BC

    Can you freeze cheesecake?

My boss gets us a frozen cheesecake every Christmas season and the individual slices are separated with parchment paper. It seems to freeze just fine. BC

Thanks! We're having one toasty weekend here in the Chicago area, so we're just taking things slow and looking forward to trying out the new yuppie watering hole this evening. BC

Are We Really the Nicest, Friendliest, etc.?

There do seem to be an "old guard" here who know each other very intimately, but they are pretty nice to everyone for the most part. I still avoid some topics that seem to be only for them, but that's going to happen from time to time. BC
