    Naan bread like a restaurant

Okay. I added the yeast in asweel but if you used yeast, yeast interacts with sugar. Well it does in the brewing industry. What about normal flower verus strong flower though. Maybe restaurants in the UK make them blow up like ballons to make them look impressive but their easyer to tear apart...

    Blow torch

The one on the BBC was large and had a very long about 4 inch flame. He used it to Flambé sea bass. It is available 28 minutes into the program @ Verry funny, worth a watch. https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m001hj14/saturday-kitchen-21012023

    Mushy peas

There seems to be a world shortage of mushy peas, at least in the UK supermarkets. Last year, I bought a 2kg bag of marrowfat peas (dry). This is what mushy peas are. I have put some in water and they have grown in size. Only thing is, Mushy peas in a tin are green like garden peas. These are...

You should tell her that a well done stake is a sacrilege and it is just burnt.

    Rib eye

Hi. My butcher was out of rump steak. I like this as it has better flavour for me than a fillet. Can someone tell me where does rib eye rank in these?

    Chow Mein

I had heard egg noodles mentioned but that Fettuccine looks nice. Thanks. Had a look at supermarkets on line. They don't have it but Amazon does.

    Chow Mein

Hi. In the 60s there was a company called Vesta. I liked the Vesta chow mein. What I would like to know is where can you get the soft flat noodles. I can see the chrispy ones on line. Thanks.

    Defrosting a turkey

Okay. I am not an American and as such do not have enormous drive in fridge. Also there could be a shortage of turkeys here in the UK with the bird flu coming around. I just wanted to hedge my bets. I will have to make space in the fridge somehow.

    Defrosting a turkey

    How about a defrost time?

    Defrosting a turkey

Hi. How long would you take to defrost a turkey. I am assuming left on the table as it could not be done slowly in a fridge. Too big. Looking at 3.5kg

    Coconut rice

Thanks for all your replies. This is what I have Organic Creamed coconut. Can this be frozen or kept in fridge for a long time? Just read below that this is a solid bar. Now coconut milk powder looks better than the desiccated as you could just add a few tea spoons into the rice cooker. I...

    Coconut rice

Hi. I used to make this with 100g rice, 100g water as a 80% water and 20% coconut milk. It turns out nice although I am stuck with a lot of coconut milk in a can that I end up throwing most of it away. Tried putting it into a jam jar and into the fridge. It just splits. Could I buy coconut...

    How to use Saffron

I was thinking of getting saffron from Amazon as I was interested in it seen chefs use it on TV. I never got around to using it as I did not know the best ways to use it and it smells odd. To make matters worse, it was on a repeat subscription and now I have two. I am going to need help on the...

    Poppadums?

    Found good ones on Amazon.

    Poppadums?

Can't find a place for this one. I have always bought (UK) populum's from a supermarket in a plastic packaging with about 10 in it. The idea is you put them in a deep fat fryer and the expand into nice big poppadum's. Don't know if it has anything with Russia and the Ukraine and getting...

    Venison (UK only)

Have you got an actual link to any of these and not a google.XXX search engine as I have looked and no actual street butcher. I suppose the Russian's and Japanese, and north Korean would also have a google address that would show butchers in the UK

    Venison (UK only)

Thanks for that. I wouldn't mind the minimum order of £39.50 if I liked venison but this is wild meat and I have never tried it. If they could reduce the amount for a first purchase that would be fine. What does it taste like and don't say game "I found the following using...

    Venison (UK only)

Taxi Lady is right. You don't get what you expect but but just because you live in the U S of A, doesn't mean that everything is the same. You might have an enormous amount of Deer in USA and Canada. I have heard that venison in the UK can be as much as £60 [$73] / kg. So supermarkets will fudge...
