Creamy turkey soup. And that's the end of Thanksgiving leftovers.

Turkey and gravy with mashed potatoes, peas, and cranberry-orange sauce. Turkey stew is almost made, which will end my Thanksgiving leftovers! So....tomorrow.... ?

What do you put in your creamy turkey soup? For my stew, it is the broth from the carcass, potatoes, carrots, celery, peas, and turkey, ofc.

I made a batch of fried rice, with the last 1½ cups or so of the leftover turkey, my friend sent home with me. I chopped up about 1½ c of greens, as well, and one scallion, from the garden, which was like 4 or 5 normal scallions -half I put in with the greens, the rest at the end, along with about a dozen small snow peas and sugar snaps - all I could find in the garden. Started with 1 tb each minced ginger and garlic, followed by a tb of Szechwan chili paste with garlic. I cooked some brown basmati rice last night, to have cold, for this. No eggs left for it, but even if I had some, I probably wouldn't have used them - would have saved them for the necessities, like cookies. :ROFLMAO:

Had a grocery delivery today, so had planned on some simple options for supper tonight. Well, I figured out something even simpler. We got a free sample of "
Cavendish Farms Quick Cook Potato Patties Mini 625 g". I also had a 250 gram package of bacon in the fridge that was unopened, but almost a month past its best before date. Figured it was best to use up all the bacon as soon as possible after opening it. So, I decided it would be breakfast for supper. I made a French omelette; baked the bacon in the oven; and used the toaster oven on convection for those frozen hashbrowns. It was all delicious. I was going to take pictures, but I couldn't find my phone, so I figured it was upstairs. I found it later. It was in my pocket, but I had looked in the wrong one. Oh well, it wouldn't have been very interesting pix anyways.

I guess both DH and I needed to sleep ... we slept until 10am today ... we NEVER sleep that late.
So rather than making breakfast I made the decision that we'd have a nice lunch and supper.
I went to one of our favorite joints a coupla towns up from us and got two nice take-out entrée salads, one Greek-Style and one house special (candied pecans, bleu cheese crumbles, dried cranberries and mandarin orange segments over romaine).
We ate half for an early lunch and then other halves for supper ... hit the spot and NO DISHES!
;)

Had a very late lunch of delicious Cream of Leek soup I found hiding the freezer (I won't tell you the date, but I wasn't living here yet!) Then later on I steamed some frozen pork dumplings. Very satisfactory.
