How To Peel A Hardboiled Egg

Zhi, I truly hope no one spits on my eggs or into the sourdough starter (there's a rumour that SF bakers do that!). Still, the fact remains that we DO need the herd factor to boost our immunity. I don't think we need worry about getting mono from someone spitting on our eggs - it's an unlikely...

How To Peel A Hardboiled Egg

Andy, have you got any idea what goes on in most restaurants? If you did, you wouldn't eat out, if this is the way you feel:) Grandson who is a chef and has his own restaurant, says he only eats out in spots where he knows the chef personally and knows how he runs his operation. And anyway...

How To Peel A Hardboiled Egg

I'm gonna try that!! My method is - hard boil, dunk in very cold water, whack all over with the back of a spoon, crunch in hand and peel. dunking now and again in the cold water. Works. But just for the hell of it...COPD notwithstanding.... I will try to blow them!!:)))

Is it OK to drink demineralized water?

I don't think that demineralised water is all that great for regular consumption as drinking water. The process of demineralisation removes ALL of the minerals and some of those are essential for protecting us against the absorption of dangerous substances like lead and cadmium. I'd do some...

    Potato Masher Redesign

Those aren't smashers .. this is a smasher Yes Josh, I know, because they used one in a very upmarket rest I ate at a while back. And somehow I think the pre-smashed material was leftover baked spuds from an earlier diner's plate:glare: Prefer fluffly creamed potatoes myself and usually do them...

    Injured while cooking - poll

Worst I had was when spreading oil on a red hot bbq plate with paper towels five years ago. Having a nice slurp of red and chatting to a guest at the same time Silly me!! Somehow or another, flipped the paper over onto back of hand. Oh! Oh! that was a bad one. Still have the scars. Don't...

    Partly baked bread

Hmm.. I've never partially baked bread so I'm not sure how I would tackle that. But when I was working, I used to make the bread dough, allow it to complete the first proof, punch it down, shape it into loaves or rolls, wrap in clingwrap and then freeze it. Unless it promised to be a...

    I am so confused!!

Just treated my kitchen to a beautiful Chasseur oval dutch oven. Although the range is CI, it is double enamelled so therefore is probably not not suitable for use with induction cooktops. (Magnets don't stick to it). It is fine for ceramic cooktops and I love it. It was horribly expensive...

    Petty Vents

I guess the old saying goes here, Charlie. "If you like it tell your friends. If you don't then tell me." Tell 'em!!! You don't have to go back, but you'll feel better for having said your piece.
