The sun is kicking it's heels up! 80's again today with a slight chance of snow on Saturday. (???LOL) Flies came out of hibernation. It's going to be 34 degrees Sunday night. No wonder the flies want in the house!
Don't let the flowers fool you ... the ground is still frozen. It's forecast to be 80 degrees and super windy tomorrow. It's suppose to rain Saturday with a cold front hitting Monday.
It has warmed enough, and the Illinois violets are in bloom. Our weather is taking a break and we are enjoying some sunshine and temps in the 70's. Looks like birds are starting to migrate north. Glad they have a backup plan. Next week? That's another story ... cold and wintery.

I have relatives who live on a farm. When it gets dark out there ... it's black. The fire pit is really cool. Something was making a big noise in the tree branches ... they told me it was a tiny bat!
I have made this years ago. The meat must be well drained. Layer corn tortillas, cheese, meat. Make three layers. Pour thick sauce over top and cover with another layer of cheese. Put in preheated oven 425F 15 minutes until cheese melts.
The name of this is Chalupa Loaf ... you may want...
My lights flickered all night. The mood lightens when I have no idea where the candles are or if I have any so I did not look for them. This house is 150 years old and I'm the first to have electricity not to mention telephone and Internet (LOL).
My basket is six inches therefore eight inch pie plates (standard size cookware) does not fit inside the basket. I bought some metal miniature cookware that does.
There is storm damage all over the state. We were lucky with high wind and rain. Some nearby towns got the hail. A concert was hit ... one dead and a dozen injured.
Same type of storm forecast for Tuesday.
Have been watching the same red blob on local weather all of this week. Now the storm has been "scheduled" for tomorrow 2pm lasting a couple of hours. It's almost midnight and what am I hearing? Thunder??? Do I still have time to pack lunch for tomorrow to put in my emergency preparedness...
I believe many people just starting out need help filling their pantry with some basic things so every shopping trip is not overwhelming. What would you recommend as a starter list to fill the pantry?
