Petty Vents II

This morning at Walmart I bought myself a tub of Ben & Jerry's. They have always been my favourite brand of ice cream and I put it in the freezer to save for tonight. I had quite a hard day and was looking forward to it. Just looked in the freezer and guess what? Gone. My Husband had just eaten the ENTIRE THING. I love him but honestly, what a glutton. Didn't even bother to ask if it was mine, just assumed I had left it in there for him. This isn't the first time either! Once I had made a cheesecake for visitors and when I looked in the fridge half of it had been gone, plus some of the cheese had been eaten with a spoon leaving only the crust. Infuriating after all that work. This is very petty so I thought it would belong here. Still a bit mad about it though.

Since DH appears to be untrainable, start labeling things you want to save.

I have had no problem telling my DH to keep his hands off my food because, like yours, he will eat an entire thing of B&J's or Hagen Daz in 1 setting, while it takes me at least 4, as well as other food. It took a few times, but for the most part he asks now, though occasionally backslides. I always buy some for him, as well as myself, when I buy treats though.

A bit mad? I would be furious and would let him know just how disrespectful, rude... and whoa!! wait a minute! ... go ahead, make another cheese cake, thoroughly laced with hot sauce and I mean a whole bottle, put a little paper sign on a toothpick saying "please don't touch, need it for ... (something)..." and see what happens.

I know it is a waste of cheesecake but maybe not wasted if he learns his lesson?

OK, I know, not practical.. perhaps you should have a talk with him, tell him from now on you promise to put a little flag or something on things that are meant to be left alone. Including the ice cream "Please be sure to leave me at least half"

Honestly, not a bad idea! What if I lace it with laxatives? Just kidding, haha.;)

Years ago, when I worked for someone other than myself, there was a lunch thief in the plant. So, someone got tired of their lunch disappearing and did pretty much what you described. The thief was discovered, and the Case of the Disappearing Lunches was solved!

If your target has certain medical issues that you may not be aware of, you could cause them serious harm with "pranks" like this. If someone did it to me, I'd call the police.
Oh, please! I did NOT do it...but I heard about it. I worked in the office and rarely used the breakroom that was located inside the plant. I agree and would not do that to anyone...on the other hand, I can see how, after time went on and going without lunch, one could be pushed...

and come to think of it... if you have food issues that can affect your health - why would you steal someone else's lunch?

And this is not a "prank" being wrought on just anybody - but targeted at the thief. I agree - there are many "pranks" that in my opinion are just not pranks but downright malicious actions.

However, if you are too lazy to make your own lunch, or too cheap to go out and buy your own lunch - and you constantly take MY lunch then be aware I will do something about it.

I would get those fake moldy sandwich bags....or create "mold" using food coloring. ;)
I've never heard of those bags, but what a great idea! Have you ever noticed that the Sargento packaging for some of their sliced cheese has a picture of a field just above the window for showing the cheese? However, when I look at it, I see moldy cheese...not a rolling field picture! Ick!

The plant employees are doing jobs that require good energy. And they need their nutrition. I think they just got "hangry"?

Um, did I say you did?

This is part vent, part brag. A relative of my husband's regularly invites herself and husband to "visit" us while in Texas. They expect to arrive for lunch, bore us all afternoon, have dinner, drink all our wine, and then have breakfast and lunch and return to his parents in Houston.
She called, saying they would be in Texas for July 4th, and were coming on the 2nd and 3rd to visit us. I had the courage to say that that would not be convenient. She was somewhat taken aback, but really, who cares?
