Good Friday will most likely be fish/seafood with cabbage salad and a few fries.

Holy Saturday will probably be pizza and salad.

My little Easter feast doesn’t change much.

Ham steak
Kielbasa
Cauliflower Gratin
Maple glazed carrots
Cabbage salad
Pickles, olives, horseradish

Dessert will most likely be a piece of dark chocolate or a Kozy Shack tapioca pudding cup or both. 🤭

Sounds wonderful. Would share your Maple glazed carrots recipe?

Not really a recipe.

I cut and simmer the carrots until tender, drain them, put the pan back on the burner to dry them, season with S&P, add equal amounts of butter and maple syrup, toss, and serve. A little butter and maple syrup go along way.

I like to use real maple syrup but these days I settle for sugar-free maple flavored syrup.

If you have leftover carrots take two cups and buzz them in the blender. Follow your favorite recipe that uses a 14oz can of solid pack pumpkin for bread, cake, pie, etc…

Son, etal, heading to Quebec to visit with dad and his bro. I might make some cute bunny shaped bread buns I made once before. They should travel well and the kids enjoy them. I'm assuming 'tout le gang' will be at dad's for the Easter meal.

For myself? who knows? Every plan I make will change a thousand times before the day. :D

Still don't see where someone mentions meat on Good Friday

2023 Good Friday, Easter - is the title of the thread.
LOL beginning to wonder about your late night postings. :whistling :ROFLMAO:
You are right that there were actually specific days mentioned for the dishes. I guess you didn't notice that I mentioned in the dinner thread that I had a migraine (it isn't gone yet) and the stupid.

Some churches are lifting dietary restrictions this year. Saw it on the news a few weeks ago. I'm sure some people will keep a traditional observance.

I think that was just for Saint Patrick's Day, which fell on a Friday this year. It was so people could enjoy their corned beef and cabbage.

People with health issues are exempt. The nun at our church says God is forgiving.
