What did you have or are going to have for supper?

I made a Thai, green, chicken curry and a Thai green, veggie curry to go with that. I served it with brown basmati rice. I will have to make a note in the recipe that there was too much coconut milk. It didn't harm the flavour, but it did make it quite "soupy". The recipes are from Blue Dragon and use their green curry paste. I love their kits and curry paste.

While my counter and our plates looked like a holiday, all I tried to do was stock up on planned-overs. Everything went into the oven: ham, beets, carrots, Brussels sprouts, and yellow potatoes. We have lots of ham left, but only small one-serving amounts of each vegetable. Still beats cooking full meals for the next couple of days.

I made & ate pizza, but I forgot to take pictures.

I had nasi goreng for brunch. With a soft fried egg and cucumber

We used up some leftovers too! I turned LO pork roast into BBQ Pork Sandwiches on burger buns. We finished off the Hot Wings, Coleslaw and some BBQ Beans from the freezer too. We enjoyed it very much and DH said it was "fun!" I kind of think the male brain enjoys finger food more than the female brain, but I just set out extra napkins! :-p

@GinnyPNW, you just gave me an idea. I think finger foods would be the perfect time to do something old fashioned and "snooty". I'm thinking of putting out finger bowls. Now, I just have to figure out what to use as finger bowls.

Taxy.... $$tore! or the Asian market. I bought little bowls of all sizes there. For dipping sauces, etc, individual rice bowls, etc. they have come in so handy! love'em!

That sounds like fun! I'm thinking I might have something I could use in my "good set" of dishes...but I think they might look funny on our TV tables? ;) A pack of "Wet Ones" might be better here?

That said, would love to see pictures of what you choose and use!

I have two little serving bowls that go with my regular dishes. They would work, if I'm not using them to serve lemon wedges or something. I also have some ramekins that would work. Hmm, I also like dragn's suggestion. Oh! I have some small, metal bowls that DH got me for mise en place that would work. I hate using disposable stuff, if I can think of something else that will do the job, so no wet wipes here.

Wrong post...
I read Chinese fries instead of cheese fries and was wondering what they were

Although NOT Chinese Fries, I've made this Chinese Potato Dish, recommend by my son who lives in China, and it was really good.

That sounds real good!
I tried making an Indonesian fried potato recipe some time back, but forgot to rinse the potatoes.
But at least that made me realise what I was doing wrong when trying to make rösti (i rinsed the potatoes and shouldn't have)

I forgot to reply:
One of the biggest eye-openers on my first visit to Thailand was that a lot of the curries were thin. Very tasty, but like a soup.
Not at all what I expected and knew. These days i don't bind/thicken my curries anymore.

But if you do want a thicker curry, go half amount coconut milk or cream and add creamed coconut (it thickens the curry and actually is coconut)

LOL, Badjak, I don't what 'cheese fries' are anymore than I do 'chinese fries'.

Think of them as American poutine. :ROFLMAO:

Basically, they are crispy fries, topped with shredded cheese, bacon, and other toppings. Mine had pickled jalapeños and some sour cream on the side for dipping.
